The food group Pfeiffer & Langen is taking over the sausage manufacturer Rügenwalder Mühle..
The Cologne-based sugar manufacturer Pfeiffer & Langen ("Diamant.Zucker") has announced the planned takeover of the sausage manufacturer with the well-known red mill logo.
Rügenwalder Mühle, based in Bad Zwischenahn, was founded in 1834 as a family business and has developed from a spreadable sausage specialist into one of the most successful suppliers of vegan meat and sausage substitute products. Pfeiffer & Langen's investment represents an important strategic step in the company's planned expansion into the European market.
For Pfeiffer & Langen, the transaction, which is still subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities, fits in with the diversification strategy that saw Intersnack ("Chio-Chips") slip under the umbrella of the holding company some time ago.
