Up-to-date information on changes to MRLs for fruit and vegetables will be compiled here following their publication. However, we do not announce any EU projects of this kind.
The partly drastic reductions of the MRL for Phosmet to down to 0.005 mg/kg will have an impact on a large number of fruit and vegetables. On the other hand, the residue definition will be changed so that only the residues of Phosmet itself, but not of its metabolite Phosmetoxone, will be taken into account.
The new regulation will apply from 15.9.23 without transitional periods. It remains to be seen whether France will withdraw its temporary import ban on cherries from countries where Phosmet is still authorised as an insecticide, as announced (see AGROLAB RADAR May 2023).

YOUR PLUS: Of course, we also achieve the required lower limits of determination for phosmet in fruit and vegetable samples in order to be able to reliably confirm compliance with the lowered maximum residue levels of 0.005 mg/kg.
