The Food and Veterinary Institute Oldenburg (LAVES) summarised its results of pesticide monitoring in strawberries.
The data presented refer to examinations performed in 2021. In total the food inspectors analysed 51 samples and were able to detect residues in 88% of the samples, however none exceeding the EU maximum residue levels.
The report also stated that a high percentage of the samples (82%) contained a mix of up to 4 different pesticides at a time. Among the 29 detectable active ingredients, the fungicides.
cyprodinil, fludioxonil, fluopyram and trifloxystrobin were found most frequently.
