The proposal for the coordinated control programme of the European Union to ensure compliance with maximum residue levels of pesticides and to assess the consumer exposure to pesticide residues in and on food of plant and animal origin, was accepted by the member states and stakeholders.
The programme for 2023 and 2024 was actualised and extended by the plan for 2025. It focuses on 10 foods of plant origin and 2 foods of animal origin. In 2023 it is planned to check oranges, pears, kiwis, cauliflower, onions, carrots, potatoes, dried beans, rye (kernels), brown rice, poultry fat, and bovine liver. Plant derived materials shall be analysed for up to 189 different pesticides, the animal derived matrices will be tested for only up to 26 parameters.
The test for ethylene oxide/2-Chlorethanol will be limited to dried beans, rye and brown rice in 2023. In the following years the analysis for ethylene oxide/2-Chlorethanol will be performed on grains only. Maleic acid hydrazide will be checked only 2023 and only in onions and potatoes.
Annual adaptions of the plan are possible.
Your PLUS: With AGROLAB’s pesticide residue portfolio you are always on the safe side as the parameters which shall be tested within the EU monitoring are all included in our routine packages of course.
