The authorisation for the active substance isopyrazam has expired and the approval for 1,3-dichloropropene has not been granted.

The EU Commission withdrew the authorisation for isopyrazam (CAS No. 881685-58-1) by Regulation (EU) 2022/782 1) of 18.5.2022. The fungicidal active substance was classified as toxic to reproduction and carcinogenic. Member States must withdraw authorisations for plant protection products containing isopyrazam by 08.09.2022 at the latest. Their use-by date is shortened and expires on 08.12.2022.

For most fruits and vegetables, the maximum permissible level is set at 0.01 mg/kg. Exceptions currently exist for bananas, peaches, pome fruits, persimmons and azaroles, as well as tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, cucurbits, root and tuber vegetables. It is expected that the maximum residue limit will soon be reduced to 0.01 mg/kg.

For 1,3-dichloropropene 2), the applicants have withdrawn the application for authorisation because the EFSA risk assessment could not be completed and certain concerns about environmental harm could not be addressed.

For 1,3-dichloropropane a maximum residue limit of 0.01 mg/kg (analytical limit of determination) applies.
