The Dutch-British food giant not only sees a trend business in the meat and milk alternatives, but also sees a growing future market in the innovative vegetable substitute products
In the next five to seven years, the company announced that it intends to increase its revenues from plant-based replacement products to one billion Euros by presenting the "future foods" initiative. This initiative also includes ideas for sustainable production and the avoidance of food waste along the value chain. In addition, product formulations are being fine-tuned with the aim of optimizing the nutritional value profiles, i.e. further reducing fat, salt and sugar contents.
