Nine out of ten consumers in Germany like the new Nutri-Score label, which will enable them to distinguish between healthier and less healthy foods in the supermarket at a glance without having to study the small print on the back.
This was the result of a survey conducted by management consultants PwC. The voluntary logo must be printed on the front of the package and is intended to supplement the prescribed nutritional information. Registration and use of Nutri-Score is free of charge for all companies. The trademark owner is Santé publique France, a subordinate authority of the French Ministry of Health.
Companies that label their products with Nutri-Score in Germany can also use Nutri-Score in France and Belgium. Other countries are considering introducing this additional consumer information as well. We assume that the new labelling will spread very quickly and that therefore even smaller food producers will find it difficult to get around the voluntary labelling.
AGROLAB supports you with the correct Nutri-Score classification
The AGROLAB food laboratories will determine or check the correct Nutri-Score classification as part of the labelling test if requested. We have integrated the corresponding calculation formulas into our result evaluation.
The calculation components, reference values and the Nutri-Score algorithm were developed by scientists* and tested independently of the MRI.
The Nutri-Score enables the nutritional-physiological comparison of foods - but only within the respective product group.
Your PLUS: On request, we calculate and check the Nutri-Score as part of the nutritional value and labelling check. (FM)
