The Commission has approved, on May 31, 2018, a communication on questions and answers regarding the application of Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 on food information provided to consumers.
The purpose of this communication is to help food business operators and national authorities to apply the Regulation, by providing answers to a series of questions that emerged after the entry into force of this Regulation.
The communication reflects the discussions held by the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) of the Commission with experts from the Member States in the context of the Working Group on Regulation (EU) 1169/2011, on the food information provided to the consumer.
This document updates the previous question and answer document, approved in January 2013, and provides answers to a series of additional questions.
