On 1.1.2016 QS changed its requirements concerning the monitoring of animal feed. Our laboratory in Kiel is now analysing its animal feed according to these new requirements.

On 1.1.2016 the QS organisation changed its requirements concerning the specified inspections for the monitoring of animal feed in the area of antibiotics.

As before, those participating in the animal feed monitoring have to have their animal feed analysed for substances with an antibiotic effect according to the inspection plan. This inspection is generally carried out with an inhibitor test (also known as a plate test). If the inhibitor test turns out positively, an identification of the substances that have an antibiotic effect must then take place.

For the purpose of identification, QS has now published new requirements, which require obligatory implementation by the participants, concerning the substances under examination. Now also the following substances require identification:

  • Florfenicol
  • Colistin

Your benefit: We take the quality of your products seriously – LUFA-ITL is QS-certified

Since this was not covered by the previous plate test, we have revised the plate test and adapted it to the requirements of the customers of QS.

Our new package for the identification of antibiotic substances covers all of the antibiotics specified by QS and additional antibiotics in order to offer you an exceptionally high reliability of identification.

We have also transferred the identification of the thin layer chromatography with bio-autography to the LC MSMS so that we can also inform you on the level of the residue content.

All of the changes have been discussed with QS and approved by them.
